A trunk sewer survey is often required for sewers that have extreme depth and length with a diameter of 1200mm and above. They require specialist techniques involving multiple teams.

Large diameter tractors with powerful pan, tilt and zoom cameras are normally required. We also use a range of floatation devices for surveying pipes with heavy flow and high water levels.

Our site managers are trained in the management of confined spaces to be able to plan, design RAMS and execute challenging man entry procedures. All our operatives are City & Guilds trained in “confined space entry (High Risk)” and “confined space rescue”. We use explosion proof (Ex) radios and torches and our operatives where full PPE.

We have confined space RAMS and trunk specific risk assessments in place and these are documented.

We also have a live entry and exit recording system in place and this is documented and specifically designed for a trunk entry permit.

Our safety critical confined space equipment is also checked and documented in the trunk entry permit prior to each use.
